“I’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe…”
The 2025 theme
With these words begins the journey of Revela’t 2025. A journey that takes as its starting point the iconic Tears in Rain monologue from Blade Runner, where the replicant Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) speaks of unique experiences doomed to disappear, like tears in the rain. Who hasn’t felt that way at some point? A witness to the extraordinary, knowing that perhaps no one else will see it.
This is how we understand analog photography: as an act of resistance and memory in a world saturated with fading images. For nearly two centuries, it has been the mirror of our existence: faces, landscapes, ideas, emotions, desires… Everything that makes us human.
Today, in a present where artificial intelligence blurs the boundaries between the real and the imagined, we ask ourselves: can we still be surprised?
We believe so.
That’s why, this year, each exhibition will be a window into worlds that seem dreamed but are entirely real…
We arrive at this thirteenth edition with the same passion as on the first day and with the desire to continue much further. It has not been easy. This year’s path has been full of obstacles—especially economic ones—and we cannot hide that the future of the festival is uncertain. If conditions do not change, perhaps Revela’t will also fade away, like those tears in the rain.
But today, we are not talking about goodbyes—we are talking about celebration. Because we have made it this far. And as long as it is possible, we will continue making analog photography help us question many things.
Hopefully, the future will treat us as the Tyrell Corporation did with Rachael (Sean Young)… and allow us to keep the festival going for a few more seasons.
