Colección Santos Montes
Foto Ramblas
Foto Ramblas was a specialized photography studio located on Las Ramblas. People would go there to have a portrait taken to send to their families or for promoting their individual activities.
Currently, the Foto Ramblas archive stands as an important showcase of life during that period, especially from the 1950s to the 1970s. The neutral aesthetic of its prints is noteworthy, giving a more contemporary look to its images.
When it closed at the end of the last century, its last photographer, José María Cirés, handed over his negatives and prints to Santos Montes, who then exhibited this work in various museum institutions.
