Revela’t is an international festival dedicated to contemporary analogue photography, held annually in Vilassar de Dalt, very close to Barcelona. Since its first edition, the festival has become a meeting point for photography enthusiasts in general, artists, students, researchers, laboratories and audiences interested in chemical photographic processes and historical techniques.

The festival was created with the aim of reaffirming the value of analogue photography in a context dominated by digital imagery. Far from being a nostalgic practice, analogue photography has become a space for artistic research and technical experimentation that continues to evolve today.

Each edition brings together a series of exhibitions centred around a theme proposed each year, as well as workshops, talks and educational activities focused on contemporary analogue photography. Photographers from around the world present projects that use film or traditional processes such as wet plate collodion, among many others.

In the latest open call for exhibitions, nearly 600 projects from more than 60 countries were submitted, and 13 of the 23 exhibitions feature international artists. This year, Revela’t places a special focus on Taiwanese analogue photography, an emerging scene that combines personal memory and urban landscape with a sensibility rarely seen at European festivals.

Over the years, Revela’t has established itself as one of the few leading events dedicated exclusively to contemporary analogue photography, connecting emerging artists with established figures in the field.

The festival takes place across different venues in Vilassar de Dalt, turning the town into a global centre for analogue photography for several weeks.
