Portfolio Review 2025

Do you know you take great photographs? Are you looking for an expert evaluation of your work or are you determined to bring it to life through an exhibition or a photobook? We have a unique opportunity for you. We invite you to participate in our Portfolio Review session. Here, you will have the opportunity to present your projects to nine experts in the field of photography.

Gallerists, curators, festival directors, critics, and editors will spend 20 minutes with each of the participants throughout 3 hours, providing inputs, advice, and constructive feedback on their work. This event will give you an external and professional perspective on your developing projects and help you make contacts that could boost your career in both the national and international arenas.

Don’t miss this opportunity to improve your skills and advance your photographic career! The selected participants will be divided into two groups: morning and afternoon.

Who can apply?

Photographers of any nationality, origin, or place of residence who work in both analog and digital photography are eligible to apply. The selection of the eighteen photographers will focus on works that have potential, originality, and a strong concept. The stage of development of the project will not be taken into account.

Prize

Participating in the portfolio review is an opportunity that can help your project evolve as far as you are willing to take it, and the contacts and knowledge you can gain on this day are, in themselves, already a prize.

But there is more: among all the projects in the review, one will be selected to be featured as an exhibition at the Revela’t 2026 festival. The festival will cover the production, installation, fee, and related expenses. It will be selected by the Revela’t team, with input and advice from the reviewers. Consideration will be given to the quality of the project, its alignment with the theme of the 2026 edition, and its suitability for the exhibition narrative.

Additionally, the eighteen participants in the Portfolio Review will receive a FULL PASS to access the exhibitions and conferences of the Revela’t 2025 festival.

FAQS

En blanco
I would like to submit more than one project. Is that possible?
Yes, of course. You can submit as many projects as you wish; each one counts as a separate submission.

Can I apply as a duo or collective?
Yes. However, if selected, only one representative will be able to attend the portfolio review session.

Can I submit projects that are already produced and laid out?
The Portfolio Review is a great opportunity to make contacts and gain international exposure, but it is above all a time to learn, listen, and exchange opinions and critiques with professionals who can help grow or improve your project in the future. You can submit a finished project, but we encourage you to come open to giving it a new direction and to embracing other perspectives and contributions.

Who selects the prize?
It will be selected by the Revela’t team, with input and advice from the reviewers.
What does the registration and participation fee cover?
The €20 fee contributes to the administration and promotion costs, covering the selection process as well as the equipment and materials for the session. If you are a Friend of Revela’t, since you already contribute to the festival in another way, you will benefit from a 50% discount on the registration fee. Under no circumstances will the registration fee be refunded. The participation fee partially covers the expenses of the team involved in the session (coordination, production, and jury). The participation fee (€100) will only be paid by the photographers selected for the Portfolio Review. The Friend discount is not applicable to the participation fee.
If I am a Revela't Friend, how can I get my 50% discount?
All Friends of Revela’t will receive a CODE by email to access the call with the discount.
Can I attend the Portfolio Reviews as an audience member?
No, the Portfolio Review is a closed-door activity, and only the photographers selected for the call can attend.
What happens if I can’t attend the Portfolio Review?
Any changes to attendance and schedule must be notified at least 30 calendar days before the Portfolio Review day. If you cannot attend, 50% of the participation fee will be refunded. If you cannot notify us 30 days in advance, the participation fee will not be refunded, as the organization will not have enough time to fill the vacant spot.
Can I submit a digital project?
Yes. In the Portfolio Review, you can submit both analog and digital projects.
If I am selected, can I bring the images on a computer?
No. The selected photographers will need to bring their images in paper format, in a size between A5 and A3.
