Introduction to the Photographic Laboratory (I and II)

If you’re interested in taking the first step in analog photography, have always been curious about it, or want to refresh your knowledge from a few years ago, we have prepared two workshops that may interest you.

We will cover the entire process from taking the shot, developing the negative, to the final stage, printing on paper, and of course, you will be able to take home the copy(ies) you make.

The fundamental difference between the two is the days on which they are held and the theme. Each workshop lasts for two days, the first one on Monday and Tuesday, May 20th and 21st, and the second one on Wednesday and Thursday, May 22nd and 23rd.

The first workshop, led by Salvador Alsina, who has been teaching darkroom techniques for many years, will focus on portraits.

We will work with different cameras and formats, taking various portraits in an improvised studio or outdoors, and go through the entire process until we obtain a print of your portrait.

The second workshop, led by Santos Montes, a great photographer who decided to settle in Vilassar de Dalt and actively participates in the festival. With him, we will leave the factory and address the landscape theme in a very broad sense, followed by work in the darkroom until the final print.
