JJ Lorenzo (1987, Madrid) \u00e9s un fot\u00f2graf hisp\u00e0 brit\u00e0nic. Va estudiar Sociologia en la Universitat Complutense de Madrid i va completar la seva formaci\u00f3 en 2011 amb el M\u00e0ster de Creaci\u00f3 Fotogr\u00e0fica a l’escola madrilenya EFTI. Un any m\u00e9s tard, es muda a Londres per a continuar el seu cam\u00ed en la fotografia.<\/p>\n
El seu treball es caracteritza per l’exploraci\u00f3 del retrat psicol\u00f2gic i la cerca de noves narratives en la fotografia documental. \u00a0En 2018 \u00e9s influenciat pels fot\u00f2grafs Bertien Van Ragin i Keizo Kitajima, va comen\u00e7ar a viatjar de manera peri\u00f2dica a Ucra\u00efna i altres pa\u00efsos post-sovi\u00e8tics. A trav\u00e9s de la vida dels seus amics, JJ retrata els problemes d’una generaci\u00f3 marcada per la fricci\u00f3 entre un passat de forta her\u00e8ncia russa i un present vol\u00e0til amb anhels d’independ\u00e8ncia i uni\u00f3 amb occident.<\/p>\n
JJ viu i treballa a Londres. El seu treball ha estat publicat en i-D, Dazed o Nowness. Al maig de 2023 es publicar\u00e0 el seu primer llibre \u00abSun as an Anchor\u00bb en col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 amb l’artista del Carib Jawara Alleyne.<\/p>\n
