Mike Brodie, conegut pel sobrenom de \u00abPolaroid Kidd\u00bb, va n\u00e9ixer el 5 d’abril de 1985 als Estats Units, a la ciutat de Mesa, en l’estat d’Arizona. Brodie va comen\u00e7ar a viatjar en trens en 2002 a l’edat de 17 anys, on es va enamorar de la cultura que anomenaven \u00abtrain-hopping\u00bb. Va ser en 2004 quan un amic li va regalar una cambra Polaroid, i va comen\u00e7ar a fotografiar els seus viatges sense la pretensi\u00f3 de convertir-se en artista. Brodie va rec\u00f3rrer 200,000 milles amb tren per tot els Estats Units mentre acumulava fotografies durant els seg\u00fcents quatre anys preses amb una Nikon F3, creant aix\u00ed una col\u00b7lecci\u00f3 autodidacta de viatges pels Estats Units.<\/p>\n
Va ser en 2008 quan va rebre el Premi Baum per a artistes emergents d’Am\u00e8rica, publicant posteriorment el llibre \u00abA Period of Juvenile Prosperity\u00bb amb fotografies preses durant aquests anys, sent un dels millors fotolibros de 2013 i tamb\u00e9 va realitzar diferents exposicions. Mai va abandonar el seu amor per la fotografia, per\u00f2 va fer una pausa per a treballar com a mec\u00e0nic di\u00e8sel i camioner, sent un treballador, viatger i espl\u00e8ndid fot\u00f2graf.<\/p>\n
