L’espai canvia al voltant de les línies de ferrocarril que romanen, generacions després de la seva construcció.

Fluint cap a la distància o tallant a través d’una imatge, els raïls ens deixen sorpresos; i, no obstant això, la seva línia confiada ens ancora al nostre camí. Les estacions una vegada concorregudes se senten abandonades, objectes d’orgull estètic oblidat.

En altres llocs, les vies flueixen a través de passos muntanyencs immutables. La sèrie de fotografies “Railroad Landscapes” examina l’entorn oblidat de les vies dels ferrocarrils dels Estats Units.

De l’urbà al rural, Sanderson es va proposar examinar les vies existeixen com una força narrativa dins del marc, mirant també als llocs que descriuen la nostra història col·lectiva.

Arrelat en la seva passió pel disseny arquitectònic i històric, aquest projecte ha estat en marxa durant dotze anys.

Les fotografies van ser preses amb una càmera tradicional amb pel·lícula de 8×10 polzades durant un llarg viatge pels Estats Units d’Amèrica.

Els seus projectes inclouen temes com el transport, l’oci, la residència, la indústria i la decadència. Haver crescut en Midtown Manhattan, NY, ha influenciat gran part del seu treball, que està arrelat en una passió pel disseny arquitectònic.
