One in Three Women 

‘Tempus Fugit Diptych & Gender Violence’ is artist Nieves Mingueza’s exhibition proposal for the Revela-T 2022 Festival, and contains the following two projects:

One in Three Women is an assemblage of visual and textual fragments that conceptualizes the theme of gender violence.

And Case 3181 is a photographic essay that combines analog documentary photography and collages created from a 1959 magazine. It is a reconstruction of a femicide in which the victim is represented by a mannequin.

Nieves Mingueza


Visual artist, educator, and curator of photography projects. In her artistic practice she works with documentary photography, collage, text, video and installation. Her work moves in a space where the personal, the political and the conceptual converge. In her projects, she explores social and gender issues, mainly using and activating archival material.

Her work has been exhibited widely, including installations at Les Rencontres d’Arles (FR), Peckham 24, Royal Academy of Arts, Saatchi Gallery, Tate Britain y Tate Modern (UK), Fondazione Giorgio Cini (IT) and PhotoEspana (ES).

His work has also been published in British Journal of Photography, Fisheye, Babelia El Pais, Der greif, Lenscratch, Blind, L’oeil de la Photographie, Metal, All About Photo, Analog, Yogurt, Witty y Lensculture. In 2019 her first monographic book was published by IIKKI book publisher.

Educated to Master’s level in Documentary Photography, she regularly contributes to talks, meetings and workshops.
