He often photographs people on the street; “Transeúntes” that he comes across as he walks through different cities around the world. Photography allows him to capture an underlying dimension that would be difficult to perceive with the naked eye.

It is a hybrid process that begins with digital capture and ends with the materialization of the cyanotype, whose monochromatic tones and loss of detail contribute to emphasize the most essential aspects of the images. In this way, without imposture or context, the faces of passers-by are revealed to him in an unmistakably transcendent way.

Joan-Ramon Manchado

He studied sculpture at the Escola Massana in Barcelona, although his artistic activity is currently focused on photography. He is particularly interested in experimentation and the materiality of the photographic object. He captures images in public spaces, sometimes including the urban context and sometimes avoiding it to give maximum prominence to people.

“Transeúntes” is the first work he shows. He has been a finalist in Lens Culture Black and White Photography Awards 2021 and Sony World Photography Awards 2022, among other competitions.
