A Fuego Lento

“A Fuego Lento” is an ongoing project that started in 2016 along with the beginning of a personal relationship that detonated the need to transform the grayscale into more complex techniques.

That obsession with the transformation of silver becomes a commitment to the chemical and plastic process of the image, gaining an essential parallelism that makes us mature together.

From the shooting, the developing and the printing of the image make the darkroom “my own universe”. Mechanization has no place in this project. That is why it is presented framed with materials collected in green dots and, like the image, they undergo a transformation where they combine perfectly with the work.

“A Fuego lento” is a personal and intimate project that breaks the established rules, does not follow patterns and undergoes changes as it matures, just like the course of our lives. It is made up of collections of images with their own individual meaning.

Joaquín Melero

After twenty years taking photographs, in 2015 he returns to analog and alternative and primitive processes. He begins to expand his photographic knowledge by taking several courses and workshops in the photographic space Espai Nag and various one to one trainings with Miguel Angel Perez.

He opted for social and documentary reportage, as well as underwater photography. But in 2008 is the author’s photography which acquires a major role and begins to make my own personal projects, many of them still in progress.

From 2011 to the present, he has participated in several group and solo exhibitions.
