Laurenz Bergés’s medium format photos reveal the intention of showing the remains of humanity. Stories explained through falsely simple compositions with a flood of natural light. The chronicle of the absence through an inventory of places and still life compositions.

Mecànic exhibits for the first time this photographer, still unknown in Barcelona, but who has been part of collective exhibitions at MOMA in New York (2000); MAM in Paris (2008), FotoEspaña (2008) or at Huis Marseille in Amsterdam (2018).


Laurenz Berges (Cloppenburg, 1966)

Is one of the main photographers from the School of Düsseldorf, he promoted the bases of the contemporary documentary photography. In 1988 he worked as assistant to Evelyn Hofer in New York and in 1996 he got a degree in Fine Arts. Galerie Wilma Tolksdorf has represented him since 1989.
