Salvage Landscapes, of Heather F. Wetzel

Columbus, USA

Salvage Landscapes are constructed landscapes and part of a larger body of work titled Salvage that uses recycled materials to talk about the environment.

Salvage Landscapes make use of smooth, cut and flattened recycled cans.

These imagined, camera-less landscapes use plant materials, handmade paper, and manipulation of the chemicals in the wet plate collodion process to create each vista.

Taking a moment to step back and look at the landscape from a different perspective offers a renewed appreciation of the beauty of our planet and the need to be better stewards of the environment.
