Querido vecino, of Àlex Llovet

Barcelona

Welcome to Mas Sauro, a very special quarter. It belongs to Barcelona but is out of it, hidden behind the Tibidabo mountain, in the forest of Collserola. Here we live next door in about 160 houses, people of all social and economic levels, from the most remote and disparate corners of the world.

This small tower of babel, reflection in miniature of Catalan society, results in such a heterogeneous architecture as chaotic ranging from shacks and cottages very simple, to modern houses "architect" contemporary villas, houses of wood, a tipi tent, two farms, a modernist house cataloged, and the church of Santa Maria de Vallvidrera late Gothic style.

Throughout 2013 I visited every house to all my neighbors, making a portrait to each family with an old Hasselblad film camera and natural light in every place, until a total of 140 images.

"Dear neighbor" is for holding a community of anonymous and every one of their lives people, finding a common beyond their differences identity, and try to bring them closer to each other through their identification and mutual knowledge.
