Those are the numbers of rural abandonment in a certain region between the provinces of Guadalajara and Zaragoza, but can be applied to many similar regions in Spain where mass migrations took place during the 1960s and 1970s, as thousands of workers were needed by the rising industry established around the main capital cities.
Nowadays, what remains behind is a no man’s land where the traces of past human activity tell us the story of an extinguished way of life through disappearing fingerprints.
This is a project devoted to those fingerprints and to those who left them.
