Pinhole magic at the schools

The first ones to enjoy the activities of Revela-T 2014 festival will be 150 students from the schools and the Open Centre of Vilassar de Dalt who, this week, are going to make a workshop with the renowned photographer Ilan Wolff, who is an expert at pinhole photography.

9 groups of students of primary education and high school from the schools Francesc Macià, La Immaculada and Sant Jordi, as well as from the Open Centre of Vilassar de Dalt will take part, between the April 9th and 11th on a pinhole photography workshop by Israelian photographer Ilan Wolff. He’s one of the best experts in the world of this technique. The outcome of this workshop will be shown at an exhibition at Casal Vilassarenc during the Revela-T 2014 festival from May 30th till June 1st.

Illan Wolff was born in Nahariya, Israel, in 1955. In 1973 he obtains the O.R.T. at Israel’s Art High School. From 1976 till 1977 he works as a freelance photographer for Graphic Designer magazine. Between 1977 and 1978 he develops a project about agriculture. From this year until 1981 he’s responsible of Photography Department at N. Bloomfield Academy of Art in Haifa. From this moment till 1997 he continues his activities as independent photographer in Amsterdam, New York and Paris, using a pinhole camera.

This will be the first activity of Revela-T 2014 festival. The unique festival in the world devoted to analogue photography. Among other activities, there’ll be up to 20 exhibitions. Among them, the holdings of two of the most prestigious galleries in Barcelona will be shown, Valid Foto and Tagomago, as well as exhibitions by photographers such as J.Mª Ribas Prous, Aleix Plademunt, Paola de Grenet, Ramon Casanova, Xose Gago, Lola Montserrat, Salva Lopez or Lea Tyrallovà. There’ll be also workshops and seminars like the ones who Illan Wolff will do as well as others by Quinn Jacobson or Juan Manuel Castro Prieto. There’ll be also a wet plate photographers meeting, exhibitions in the shops, a “Fotomercat” (market of photography) and a commercial fair at Can Rafart.
