Since 1999 I work on a series of images with a common topic: the representation and understanding of a landscape transformed around me very quickly. Of these, four studies (1999-2005) were shaped postcard for public exhibition and circulation by mail through 2 modes of propagation: parallel exhibitions in galleries andi institutions and festivals + action mass mailings. The Mediterranean coast, the cities of Toulouse & Mataró, unused sports venues and pre- ruins were the case studies for those series .The images shown in Revela’t are part of 2 series: Vacaciones and Sport Places. This is the first and last postcard solo works performed before start working on collaborative and editing projects such as Bside Books, with Carlos Albalá.

Temporary cessation of one’s employment or obligations
Tourism: A product of the well-being of some societies. Practice of employing one’s vacant time in leisure and a solution to boredom or apathy, usually outside the practitioner’s natural habitat.
Vacaciones proposes a reflection on the vacuous horror of the human being in the context os his/her own free time.
Vacaciones is a collection of winter postcards which show places along the Spanish coastline which mass tourism leaves empty during the winter season.
As part of the same postcard project, the 25 postcards were sent to 25 people in Spain from 25 tourist destinations on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

Vacances (Vacations) is a collection of postcards published to be installed and repeated rhythmically in 8 postcard stands. Vacances shows places
halfway between disillusionment and fascination, stereotypes on the culture of leisure time and the tedium of holiday time. All of this is presented as a
souvenir of the metropolitan area of the city of Toulouse. This project is the result of an assignment by the Centre National d’Arts Plastiques de Paris
(CNAP/FNAC) for the Printemps de Setembre 2003 Festival and was exhibited in the Espace EDF / Le Bazacle de Toulouse (France). As a part of the same postcard project, the 24 images were sent from Toulouse to 24 people in France. At present, the installation Vacances (Vacations) forms a part of the
Fonds National d’Art Contemporain in Paris.

As a progression of earlier projects, Sport places continues to question the stereotypes of tourism and holiday time, showing images of empty sports
installations in residential, or weekend getaway, areas near to the metropolitan area of Barcelona. The abandonment of these places only bears witness to the failure of this type of utopian urban development, the garden city. Sport places is composed of 12 postcards and the same number of photographed copies on a scale of 10:1, one for each postcard model. This project was given a grant by the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Dep. of Culture in 2004 for the exhibition Sport places as a part of Photoespaña 2005’s Festival Off.
